Axjo is a Swedish polymer company, founded in 1945. At an early stage we identified the potential to use plastic for packaging purposes and today we are the leader in drums, spools and reels in smart plastics. Axjo has established long-term collaboration with a number of global companies that use our solutions in their production, solutions that not only improve cost efficiency but also a secure transition to a new era and new technology.
1945
Axjo AB is founded by Axel Josefsson in Gislaved, Sweden.
1965
Axjo develops the first reels for the local cable plant.
1998
First patented reel is launched for the Scandinavian cable industry.
2004
Reel portfolio exceeds 100 different types.
2005
Axjo opens its first production plant in China.
2006
Swedish production facility doubles in size.
2008
Production plant opens in Portugal.
2009
Product portfolio reaches over 500 different types, from 70 mm to 1000 mm.
2011
Axjo America is founded in North Carolina, USA.
2012
Axjo Pacific is founded.
2013
Axjo Group reaches its annual production target of 10 million reels and drums.
2014
Axjo Pacific establishes operations in the Chinese city of Suzhou.
2014
Axjo Group opens sales office in the Netherlands.
2016
Axjo America opens a new production plant with 50 lines.
2017
The Axjo Group is revitalising the brand with a new logo and a more cohesive group identity.
2018
Axjo Plastic acquires 24% of Windak, a world-leading manufacturer of cable industry machines.
2020
Axjo Plastic builds a new state-of-the-art-production plant and HQ in Gislaved.
