Axjo Recycling has had a strong start to 2025, with a 56% increase compared to last year. What really stands out is the rapid growth of our recycling operations. We’re also seeing solid progress with our G-Standard product line, particularly among electrical wholesalers and contractors.

Key Achievements and Milestones

Some of the highlights from the first half of the year include the full launch of our G-Standard drums. These are designed to meet high standards for durability and environmental impact. They’re ideal for cutting and meet electricians’ daily needs.

We’ve also received official approval from the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency (Naturvårdsverket), which now recognizes Axjo Recycling as a market-driven recycling system for drums. This is a major milestone. It confirms that our system supports the environment and delivers real value to its users.

Another significant achievement is our new app, which makes it fast and easy for users to return drums. We launched it in Sweden, and later this year it will roll out in more countries. In addition, we’ve signed an agreement with Remondis, who will collect used drums, even those still containing cable or pipe, unwind them, and issue compensation to the installer. It’s smooth, efficient, and cost-saving.

We are also expanding geographically, Germany and Danmark are markets you will find us at and we are always looking for the next possibility.

Challenges and How We've Addressed Them

Of course, change isn’t always easy. Breaking old habits and introducing new ways of working takes time. But our G-Standard drums make the transition worthwhile. They perform just as well as the old K-Standard models while offering better environmental performance, greater weather resistance, and lower operating costs. They’re made from 100% recycled plastic. Customers can return them, even if damaged, and receive compensation.

Our partnership with Remondis makes returns easier for customers while reducing waste and emissions. It is a win-win that improves both profitability and sustainability.

Organizational Focus and Team Development

Internally, our team is evolving as well. We're shifting focus from just wooden drums to putting more energy into plastic drums made of 100% recycled material. Our goal is to increase the number of returns, help our customers become more profitable, and reduce carbon emissions. This shift has brought new energy and purpose to our organization.

Focus for the Second Half of 2025

In the second half of the year, we’re focusing on a few key areas. We aim to complete the onboarding of all wholesalers into the G-Standard system, increase app downloads and usage, and double the number of returned drums compared to last year. We’ll also launch our system at full scale in Denmark and continue building our partnership with Remondis by adding more drop-off points and improving service.

Sustainability and innovation, are not just buzzwords for us. They are at the core of everything we do. Our ambition is to become a zero waste company. Through our products, systems, and partnerships, we’re helping the planet and creating smarter ways to work with recycled materials.

A Message to Our Stakeholders

To everyone we work with — customers, partners, and stakeholders — I want to say this: The environment demands action. New regulations arrive every day. By switching to G-Standard, you ensure compliance and support circularity, making a real impact for the planet and efficency for your bussiness. Download the app, register, and when you’re done with the drum, return it through the app. You’ll get your cashback and the sustainability reporting figures you need. Together, we can make a real difference for the planet.
