To mark its 80th anniversary, Axjo Group is this year launching the Axjo Awards — a new recognition honoring customers and partners who stand out through sustainability-driven development, innovation, and long-term collaboration. The purpose of the award is to highlight the actors who, together with Axjo, contribute to accelerating the transition toward a more circular and resource-efficient industry.
At the inaugural award ceremony in Stockholm, it was announced that Rexel is the first recipient of the Axjo Awards 2025.
“Rexel is a strategic partner that clearly demonstrates how sustainability can be integrated into the business model as a core value. They combine technical expertise with genuine responsibility, making them a natural first recipient of the Axjo Awards,”
says Jacob Nilsson, CEO of Axjo Group.
Throughout the year, Rexel has shown strong commitment to creating real change in sustainability and resource efficiency. By replacing their traditional plywood and wooden cable drums with drums made from recycled plastic from Axjo, they have significantly reduced their climate footprint while establishing a long-term, circular structure for their logistics management.
But their work does not stop there. Rexel has also actively promoted the implementation of Axjo’s return system among its customers.
The award ceremony took place in Stockholm, where representatives from both Axjo and Rexel gathered to celebrate this year’s honoree.
“This award is proof that persistent work delivers results. At Rexel, our logistics team works purposefully to make it easy for customers to choose sustainable solutions, from reusable cable drums to integrated return systems. Together with strong suppliers like Axjo, we show that technological innovation and collaboration can reduce the climate footprint and create real, circular change throughout the entire value chain,”
says Peter Sedin, Logistics Director at Rexel Sweden.
