AXJO EXPANDS WITH HIGH-TECH RECYCLING PLANT, Leading the Way in Greenology Material and Automation Solutions

CONOVER, USA, 12 FEBRUARY 2024, - Axjo Group is thrilled to announce a significant expansion of our operations in Conover, USA, as part of our strategic initiative towards Greenology materials. The cornerstone of this expansion is the establishment of a cutting-edge facility, featuring high automation through an optical sorting line, set to be operational by June.

“At Axjo, we have a longstanding commitment to producing sustainable materials by refining recycled polymers to meet our products and customers’ requirements. Our products are made of 100% recycled material, and therefore we need a huge amount of material. So, recognizing the soaring demand for recycled materials in the USA, we are naturally positioned to lead this transition by supplying our factories with our own100% recycled materials.” Tim Schultz, President Axjo America

Working with recycled materials necessitates innovative approaches to automation. For the Conover facility, we are partnering with Wiba Automation, based in Anderstorp, Sweden, to create a unique automation solution.

Christian Hiljemark, CEO of Fila Group, emphasizes the pioneering nature of this automation solution within recycling. "Automation in recycling is not as common as it is in the manufacturing industry. Therefore, this automation solution is innovative within recycling. Specifically using automation to streamline and sort various plastic fractions is something very forward-thinking, challenging us to think differently and be extremely flexible in handling the materials and products it will manage," says Christian Hiljemark, CEO of Fila Group

Axjo intends, with this initiative, to enable a future where the company's expertise and experience can foster new partnerships with those committed to driving sustainable development forward.

'The material composition we will produce in Conover is 100% PCR, which is very unique in the US market and offers significant advantages when it is manufactured in-house,' says Philip Norman, Director of Operations and Sales America

This venture marks a significant stride towards a more sustainable future, aligning with Axjo's commitment to environmental responsibility. The Conover facility will not only cater to the growing demand for recycled materials but will also showcase our dedication to innovation and flexibility in addressing the dynamic challenges of green materials.

With ten new job positions and a goal to produce 25 million pounds per year, we see a bright future for sustainability efforts and technologically innovative materials.
