Case: Lekolar
Lekolar investing in Autostore dividers
In the heart of Osby, in southern Sweden, you’ll find Lekolar. The company is the Nordic market leader in educational materials for schools and preschools, offering everything from furniture, interior design, and outdoor play equipment to craft materials, digital learning tools, pens, paint, and paper. In short, almost everything an educational environment might need.
To meet increasing demands for faster and more efficient deliveries, Lekolar operates two large warehouse facilities. In April 2025, they inaugurated their new Autostore – a modern storage solution that has become a key part of optimizing their logistics.
Behind the scenes in Osby
As planning for the Autostore took shape, Lekolar quickly realized that a large portion of their product range consists of small-volume items that still require dedicated storage locations. Without a solution to divide the bins into smaller sections, these items risked taking up unnecessary space and slowing down the picking process.
A smart solution for small items
To solve this challenge, Lekolar invested in Axjo’s dividers, specially designed for Autostore bins. Today, around ten percent of the bins are equipped with dividers, making it possible to split them into halves or quarters. This allows small articles to be stored more efficiently and picked from multiple ports at the same time.
“The dividers allow us to distribute items that would otherwise sit in just one bin. This means pickers don’t have to wait, and we can maintain a smoother flow in the Autostore,” explains Thomas Bertdahl, Engineering & Project
Clear benefits in daily operations
Lekolar highlights several key advantages of Axjo’s solution:
→ Long lifespan
The dividers last at least as long as the Autostore bins themselves, making them a long-term investment.
→ Sturdy construction
They slide into dedicated tracks and provide extra support, preventing the bins from bending.
→ Cleaner warehouse environment
Unlike cardboard-based dividers, Axjo’s plastic dividers do not fray or generate dust.
→ More efficient picking
Articles can be presented at multiple ports simultaneously, reducing waiting times.
During the transition from their previous vertical lift modules, the benefit of using dividers became especially clear. Many small items that would otherwise have consumed excessive storage space could now be stored in a much more volume-efficient way inside Autostore.
A smooth collaboration
Lekolar also emphasizes the ease of working with Axjo:
“From the moment we discovered the product at the trade fair in Gothenburg to placing an order and receiving the delivery, everything went very smoothly. This allowed us to keep the pace of our Autostore project without interruptions,” says Thomas
A future-proof warehouse solution
By implementing Axjo’s dividers, Lekolar has not only achieved a more efficient warehousing process but also secured a long-term solution. Optimizing Autostore’s storage capacity ensures faster deliveries and smoother workflows – benefitting both employees and customers.
