Alexanders journey: From assembly to the future of automation

Alexanders journey: From assembly to the future of automation

Automation is a central part of Axjo’s development, and one of the people driving the work forward is 34-year-old Alexander from Gislaved. With a background in production, many years of experience from the assembly department, and a curiosity for programming and technology, he now plays a key role in solving urgent issues as well as driving long-term improvements.

FROM ASSEMBLY TO AUTOMATION

Alexander began his career at Axjo in the assembly department, where he worked for ten years before moving into automation. When Axjo launched its Academy in automation, he saw an opportunity to grow and applied.

THE PATH TO AUTOMATION

His interest in programming started when he took a Programming course. Although he initially considered vocational studies, the launch of Axjo’s Academy gave him the chance to combine learning with hands-on experience.

"My time at Axjo Academy was incredibly rewarding. It gave me not only the theoretical knowledge but also the practical skills to apply it right away."

During his year at the Academy, Alexander gained knowledge in electrical systems, studied theory for B-level certification, and advanced from beginner to independently programming robots. Driving the project to implement AGV trucks was what gave the most value.

THE ROLE TODAY

Today, Alexander works with both urgent troubleshooting and long-term improvements in automation. His responsibilities range from writing new robot programs and replacing circuit boards to installing grippers, building press units, and optimizing the performance of AGV trucks AGDA and AGATON.

“No day is ever the same, and that’s what makes the job so enjoyable,” he says.

A JOURNEY THAT CONTINUES

With his solid production background and newly acquired technical expertise, Alexander has become an important part of Axjo’s progress toward future automated solutions. His journey shows how curiosity and a willingness to learn can open new doors.
