About us
Axjo Group announces the establishment of Axjo GmbH, marking a strategic expansion into Germany,
one of Europe’s most important and technologically advanced cable markets.
Axjo has long supplied the German market with packaging solutions made from 100% recycled plastic for
the cable industry. The company is now taking the next step by establishing a local organization in
Cologne to strengthen its presence and move closer to its customers. The establishment also includes
the launch of Axjo’s circular return system in Germany, supporting the growing shift toward circular and
sustainable solutions.
Through Axjo GmbH, Axjo is not only introducing its circular return system to the German market, but
also building a stronger local platform including sales, warehouse operations, and customer support. The
ambition is to establish Germany as another “home market” for Axjo.
“Our ambition is clear, to double Axjo’s market share in Germany within the next few years. With a local organization, we come closer to our customers and strengthen our position in a market where circularity is becoming increasingly important.” - Jacob Nilsson, CEO, Axjo Group
Axjo GmbH, headquartered in Cologne, launches with a focused core team supported by warehouse and
logistics operations, creating a lean and scalable organization designed to grow in line with market
demand.
The return system creates a closed loop where cable reels and drums are collected, reused, and
ultimately recycled into new products. After successful implementation in Sweden, the system is now
being introduced to one of Europe’s largest cable markets. Stricter regulations from the European Union,
such as the PPWR (Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation), are accelerating the shift toward
circular solutions. This makes compliance and operational security increasingly important for customers.
Axjo’s return system and products are already designed to meet these regulatory requirements before
they come into force.
In an industry still largely dominated by single-use plywood reels, Axjo offers a practical and
economically sustainable alternative that reduces waste without increasing costs.
“Our goal is simple, to enable full reuse of cable reels and make the energy transition both efficient and sustainable.” - Michael Thomczyk, CEO, Axjo GmbH
