The European Union Regulation REACH came into force on 1 June, 2007. REACH stands for the registration, evaluation, authorisation and restriction of chemicals. In accordance with the regulation, Axjo has taken upon itself the responsibility for ensuring that both we and our suppliers are in compliance with the requirements set out in the legislation. This means, among other things, that companies affected by the regulation must register and manage any chemicals in an environmentally-friendly manner. Axjo is exempt from the requirement for registration since no such chemicals are used in our manufacturing processes. Axjo also has systems in place which actively work to ensure that the end users return their products for recycling or reuse. We are, among other things, affiliated with REPA which is the Swedish business and industrial sectors' service organisation that provides companies with access to a nationwide recycling system designed to meet producer obligations.
